Wynn 550 PLO8 MTT

3*4k bullets at 50/100 blinds and 40 min. levels with reentry

Hero late registered around 2:45PM after debating whether the tournament would finish today. With ~50 runners at the time of my registration, it made sense.

Initial table: felt very fishy based on hands that were seen at showdown.

1 old person
2 hero
3 youngish male (30s); likely internet player with weird bet sizes
8 lady who seemed kind of bad

Played 0 hands over 2 rotations

blinds: 150/300
Hero had 3300
Hero dealt: AKT2 (AK suited)
Hero pfr UTG+2
2 players call behind (approximately 3500+ in chips)

(3150 in pot - 3 players)
Hero jams Q83 hero FD

villain 1: shows Aj63 (63 suited in clubs) (bad flush draw)
villain 2: JT98 two tone (no flush draw)
Offsuit 2
Offsuit 7

hero loses stack

Analysis:
Preflop: There's some argument for limping at a really loose table and taking a flop...but not a lot, IMO.
Flop: Hero usually has enough equity to call with NFD + NLD, even w/o a pair.
Hero loses 1 bullet and uses 1 of 2 remaining bullets.
Hero's stack: 4000

---------------
blinds: 200/400
Read: Seat 3: Micro MTT player who bets way exploitably on 888 board...
2 limps in front
Hero limped on button with aj62 (62)
SB: checked
3 (BB): checked

flop: 888 rainbow
3: donk bet ~400.
everyone folds.
Hero could try to float multiple streets...but maybe not.

Analysis:
On these types of boards, hero did not know how often villain 3 barrels when donking small on this type of board. With such few hero chips, it may not necessarily be right to float and try to take it away on turn/river.

Also, this was the second "bingo" (3 of a kind) flop at this MTT.

---------------
Hero dealt: AK62 (K2 suited)

New seat 3: open raises UTG (had ~2500 in chips) to 1400
hero flat calls in BB (~4000 in chips)

(2 players - 3000 in pot)
Flop: 643 (2 tone)
hero bets near pot (all in)
3: calls and shows A6xx with NFD

brick/brick and players chop pot.

Analysis:
Hero's hand is kind of not strong, but villain may not bet a counterfeited A3xx unless there's other high equity (flush draw, straight, etc...).

---------------
blinds: 200/400
Hero dealt: A832 (A32 suited)

9: seemed to limp very often in a lot of pots (like 40/8)

seat 9: raised to 1200
hero (CO): calls
BB: calls

(3 players - 3000 in pot)
Q74 rainbow (hero has no FD)
villain: bets pot
hero: folds
BB: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero's not a huge fan of 3-betting here with such a bad high equity hand. This hand encourages multiway action.
Flop: Drawing to half the pot for stack is not advisable.

hero's stack: 4900

---------------
Hero dealt: AKT3 (AT suited)

(folds to MP player)
7: raises to 1200
9: flat calls
hero (sb): calls
bb: calls

(4 players - ~2900 in pot)
Flop: 973
Hero c/f to bet from PFR. No showdown.

Analysis:
Hero could have squeezed preflop with a decently strong hand and "gambled" w/ high equity...but, against the villains who were still in the hand, there was not much fold equity.

---------------
Eventually, late registration ends and all barrels are taken. Hero takes all barrels and has 6300 @ 200/400.

---------------
One of the players who busted is replaced by a shorter stack.
The replacement player was a "fun Cuban" (Miguel) who i had played a WSOP PLO8 SNG satellite in 2010.

Sadly, he eventually busts after break in level 6...

---------------
A882 (A8 82 double suited)
folded to hero in CO

Hero raises 2.5x
blinds fold

4700 @ 200/400 blinds
First blind steal of the MTT at level 5 = good starting table with lots of loose play.

Hero: Dealt AQ83 rainbow
(folds to hero in SB)
hero raises to 1200
villain: calls
Flop: 852 rainbow

Hero bets
villain: calls

Villain had 7653 r.

Turn/River: 852 3 7 rainbow

Hero doubles to 7200 @ 250/500.
Analysis:
Preflop: AQW is a good hand in blind vs. blind battle.
Flop: With such short stacks and TPTK + nut low, not much to talk about.

---------------
Hero dealt: 5432 (53 suited)

folds to hero in HJ
Hero (HJ): raises to 1250
folds to BB
BB: calls

(2 players: 2750 in pot)
Flop: AQ2 rainbow
BB: checks
hero: bets 1900
villain: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Good hand to open raise and have position on the field.
Flop: Betting flop with gutshot wheel wrap + good chance at villains folding hands like naked top pair = good semi-bluff opportunity.

---------------
Table breaks: hero's stack = 6000 @ 250/500
Shortly after table breaks, MTT goes on break.

---------------
1 older guy
2 middle aged lady
3 hero
older guy in seat 1
new table with lady on my right)
guy in seat 5 3b jams

Hero dealt: AKQ3 rainbow
9: limps
(2 folds)
3 (hero): raises to ~1700
5: calls
sb: folds
bb: calls

(4 players - ~5250 in pot)
Flop: 884 two tone
BB: donks ~4000
3 players - fold

Analysis:
Preflop: Isolation raise fails.
Flop: Fold is standard as villain donking in MW pot = trips (8xxx) or better

Hero's stack: 6400 300 600

---------------
Tweet:
Wow. Q64 monotone and facing PSB from straightforward villain. Another guy said he folded a266 in position with 3 spr remaining. Wow.

Analysis:
Seriously? Live players - lol.
Given that effective stacks were 3PSB, should a player ever fold with 2nd set + NLD on monotone board? Seems crazy without a sick read (villain who folded probably does not have a sick read.)

---------------
Effective stacks (hero is shorter stack): 6000
blinds = 300/600
J532 (32 suited)
7 (BB): reraises to ~3000
hero: calls

(2 players - ~6500 in pot)

flop: 329 two tone
villain leads pot (putting hero all in)
hero calls AI

villain: shows AAA8 (A8 suited)

329J5 (no flush draw completes)

Analysis:
Preflop: Some argument could be made for folding, but chances of getting eliminated with 3 low cards is not super high to counterfeit protection. Also, Hero is getting immediate price to call preflop 3-bet.
Flop: Flopping 2 pair/no low draw = outflopping aces and hero should call.

---------------
~5:20PM
blinds = 300/600
hero's stack: 3300
hero dealt: AT62 in UTG+2 (no suit)
Hero raises to 1500
player in seat 6 (seemed tight/competent?) reraises
Hero: calls

Flop/Turn/River
3s 2s 4s 8h Jd

Hero: busts

Analysis:
Hero can never relaly fold here getting such good price to call. Equity against AA$w is ~38% and pot odds are ~25%.
Hand Equity Scoops Wins Hi Ties Hi Wins Lo Ties Lo
at62 38.35% 124,677 173,708 4,246 175,848 56,138
aa$w 61.65% 257,240 422,046 4,246 74,431 56,138

---------------
Hero - out 29/53, paying 7 places
Overall, the field was very soft with few ok players. Many good players were likely scared off because it was scheduled to run 2 days.
