Tilt Problem

Taking my 1st legit shot at 100plo8 since Black Friday. It hasn't been good...spewed almost 2 buyins making some idiotic plays, then misplaying other hands to not trap dead money by 4 betting preflop to isolate.

25plo hasn't been much better due to variance...which sadly spilled over into my PLO8 game.
It's like every 6 months I need to spew a large percentage of my online bankroll.... before I realize I have a problem.

Maybe it's attention to detail? Maybe 5-6 tabling is too much?

2011 Review + 2012 Planning

Online Volume:
1. Overall, I'm probably putting in about 70% volume in PLO, with the remaining 30% in PLO8 and NLO8.
2. I'm attempting to cycle in 10% NLHE in prep for MTTs + Cleveland casino opening. There could be PLO cash games at the new casino, but I'm not sure it's smart at the initial opening.
3. However, I've put in some longer session (3-5 hours) over the past couple holiday weekends. Maybe it was because I just grinded FTP's rush tables (primarily) based on looking at my HEM DB results from last year, but it seemed cash games were much softer with many randoms appearing. It also helps to be on the right side of variance too.
4. My redlines are "less red" in PLO, while I've risen past "rakeback pro" status in PLO8/NLO8 and see a green line :)
5. I'm planning to upgrade to HEM2 very soon!

Short Term Live Poker Plans
I'm prepping to (tenatively) play in the Chicago Poker Classic's 7 game MTT on Sunday, Feb. 26. Sadly, it's hard to prep online anymore due to the following:
A. 7 game MTTs don't exist online anymore (blah to no FTP).
B. HORSE MTTs run a couple times a day ($2, $3, $11), but SNGs rarely go. I've at least played a couple in preparation.
C. PLO MTTs have antes. Sadly, PLO MTTs in the rest of the world don't have antes, so it's impossible to prep for "short stack" play.
D. I play a little Stud, Stud/8, and Razz cash games (200 usually gets off) to brush up, but games don't run as often.
E. Player pools are really, really small for any game that's not NLHE or PLO.

I'm also trying to watch a bunch of training videos from Deuces Cracked and/or Cardrunners to prep for all the limit games and to shore up some leaks that I think I've always had. Mainly, they seem to center around "math" and ensuring I peel some streets (small bet streets) depending on pot size and board texture.

2012 Poker Goals
1. Keep improving my PLO cash game skills both online and live. Try to eliminate the "red line" and (hopefully) move up from micro to small stakes.
2. Retool my NLHE cash games to prepare for the Cleveland casino opening in late March. Play more online NLHE cash, but also remember that the live poker games are "different" (ie: more multiway pots among other things. source: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/brick-mortar/ftss-handy-dandy-guide-online-guys-how-kill-live-yes-easy-1021276/). I think the time away from NLHE will help me as I may have developed some bad habits.
3. Continue to improve my PLO8 game and try to move up from small to mid stakes (if the mid stakes ever get off the ground).
4. Find time to watch training videos 1x/day (even 5-10 min.) and try to post/read forums more often.
5. Wait for the WSOP (and other LV MTT) schedules and plan my training/schedule accordingly.

2012 Jazz Goals
1. Attempt to play gigs more regularly and be more diligent about trying to find jazz musicians to collaborate.
2. If in LV, hope to play at the open mic night if schedule allows. Or if traveling elsewhere, try to gig!
