Horseshoe Southern Indiana Stud Hi Cash Gaming

6-30-2013
30-60 Stud Hi Cash Gaming at Horseshoe Southern Indiana

Choices were 1-2 NLHE or 30-60 Stud Hi.
The table was 6 handed. Apparently, the game had run for 2.5 days straight and one person (seat 6) had been there since the start. He was dozing off periodically.

1 guy had open limped (2 from BI)
Dead Cards: No dead diamonds

Hero: (7d 8d) Td Kh__Hero tanks/folds
villain bets double
hero folds

Analysis:
4th: This is a call/fold spot when villain bets double. Since hero bricked flush draw, this is an easy fold.
If hero didn't brick flush draw, it's closer to a call due to implied odds of hitting flush. Villain is also less likely to have a set since hero also holds an 8.

---------------
Reads:
Seat 6: 1 villain seemed to completely play face up (said he was super tired) - kept betting repeatedly and/or check/calling and folding 7th if bricked draw

A somewhat dead flush. And maybe broadway gutter.

Dead Cards: (3 clubs dead, at most 1 door card is dead)

Analysis:
4th: Normally, it's best to get in as many bets as possible, even on smaller bet streets. But, since Seat 6 was so predictable, hero decides to slow play and grab bets later since the table wasn't jamming every pot.
5th: Hero decides to check/raise now. There's probably some merit for waiting for 6th street, but hero decides to go after bets now. Additionally, Seat 3's board is becoming a little more dangerous.
6th/7th: At ths point, villain's board is not scary enough to not bet when checked to.

Twitter: Binked set of 8 w 38t rainbow on 4th in 5 way pot. Check raised 5th aggressive straight forward player and kept 1 guy to end drawing to

Hero books first ever live winning stud hi session (+5 big bets at 30/60)!
Player field seemed fairly straightforward.
