First Table Reads:
1 mid aged guy with goatee
2 (late registrant) old guy
3 young/middle aged guy with glasses
4 WSOP shirt - mid aged guy
5 mid aged buy w/ black hair and hoodie
6 Bryce F. (likes to bet small from previous experience - set on flush board for example)
7 old guy with cap
8 hero
9 (late register at level 2) - mid aged Asian male (Pittsburgh person)

---------------
Hero folded for first 2 orbits

Hero dealt in MP: Kc Jh 9h 8h

Preflop:
(folds to Vil7)
Vil7: limps
Hero: raises to 150
(other players fold)
Vil7: calls

(2 players - 875 in pot)
River: Kd 3d 2x 3d 9x
Vil7: checks
Hero: checks

Vil7: shows Qd Qx Jd 5x
Hero: mucks

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard isolation raise with strong holding
Flop: Hero bets top pair w/ 3 overs/no flush draw. It's a little thin, but rather normal. Hero gets called by naked flush draws, wraps.
Turn: Hero has little fold equity against most of calling range. Hero checks.
River: Same as turn.

---------------
Hero dealt on button: Ah Jx 8h 7x

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 125
Vil1 (SB): folds
Vil2 (BB): calls

(2 players - 375 in pot)
Flop: Td 9d 7c
Vil2: checks
Hero: checks

(2 players - 375 in pot)
Turn: Td 9d 7c 3c
Vil2: bets 250
Hero: raises to 700
Vil2: calls

(2 players - 1775 in pot)
River: Td 9d 7c 3c 3s
Vil2: checks
Hero: bets 1050
Vil2: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: On button, this is about middle of opening range.
Flop: Hero decides to be somewhat deceptive in HU pot. But in reality, hero can get check raised often. However, there are not a lot of great turn cards on such a wet texture (over straights, flush draws).
Turn: Hero decides to raise on turn once villain shows aggression. There's merit to playing passive and letting villain barrel twice though.
River: This may not be the best of bets. It's a bit thin (as the only hope is villain thinks that hero semi-bluffed turn and continues again on the river. Hero might get called by bad 2 pairs.

---------------
Hero's cards sort of flash while hitting the muck. This may have given a hint to some players at the table.

---------------
Effective stacks: 5k @ 25/50
Hero dealt in BB: Ax As 4s 2s

Preflop:
(folds to Vil5)
Vil5: raises to 150
Vil6: reraises to 400
Hero: calls
Vil5: calls

(3 players - 1225 in pot)
Flop: 6c 3c Qc
all players check

(3 players - 1225 in pot)
Turn: 6c 3c Qc Js
all players check

River: 6c 3c Qc Js 6s
all players check

Hero shows AAxx and wins the pot.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero thought about reraising, but hero will not be able to put 1/3 effective stack in preflop, thus leaving a "guessing game". Hero decides to play a smaller pot.
Flop/Turn/River: Hero decides to avoid turning hand into bluff as hero can beat a lot of random non-flush hands.

---------------
Hero's hand: unknown (sorry)
Vil5: raised
4 players called

(4 players - 600? in pot)
Flop: 8x Kx 3x (rainbow)
all players checked

(4 players - 600? in pot)
Turn: 8x Kx 3x 3s (2 flush on turn)
hero bets ???
all other players fold

Summary: Hero stole pot after raise from villain 5 and multiple callers, but hero didn't write down actual hand.

---------------
Hero dealt in HJ: As 8s Kh Th

Preflop:
(folds to hero in HJ)
Hero: raises to 125
Vil3 (SB): calls
Vil4 (BB): calls

(3 players - 375 in pot)
Flop: Kd Td 6x
Vil3: checks
Vil4: checks
Hero: bets 225
Vil3: folds
Vil4: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise.
Flop: Standard bet. Hero would check/call a raise since there would more likely be semi-bluffs and hero is in position with deeper stacks.

---------------
Level 2 - Blinds: 50/100

Hero dealt in UTG: As Ah Th 3s

Preflop:
Hero: raises to 225
(other players fold)
Vil7 (BB): calls

(2 players - 500 in pot)
Flop: 5x 6d 4d
both players check

(2 players - 500 in pot)
Turn: 5x 6d 4d 2x
both players check

(2 players - 500 in pot)
River: 5x 6d 4d 2x Js
Vil7: quickly bets 300
Hero: thinks briefly, then decides to call
Vil7: shows 63xx
Hero: mucks

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise.
Flop: Hero has little fold equity against villain who knows that hero is tight.
Turn: There is some value in betting here, but hero decides to keep the pot small.
River: This is a bit of a suspicious bet. Hero has greatly under-represented hand, but would villain bet 2 pair here? This is definitely a call but never raise spot.

---------------
Hero dealt in LP: Ac Jc Tc 5x

Preflop:
Vil7: raises to 350
Hero: calls

(2 players - 850 in pot)
Flop: Ad 2x 6x

Hero: checks

Turn: Ad 2x 6x 4x
Vil7: bets

Analysis:
Preflop: standard
Flop: Standard check.
Turn: Hero could try to bluff at some point in the hand...

---------------
Vil9 had been a bit active. Stack was around ~2500/3k
Hero dealt on button: As Xs Xx Xx (Ax suited)

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 225
Vil9 (SB): reraises to 400
Vil1 (BB): folds
Hero: calls

(2 players - 1000 in pot)
Flop: Qh 9h Xx (hero has no flush draw)
Vil9: bets ~500
Hero: folds

Hero dealt in CO: KQJJr

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 250
Vil9 (3k stack): reraises to 900
(folds to hero)
Hero: calls

(2 players - 1950 in pot)
Flop: 9x 4x 3x (rainbow)
Vil9: bets all in
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop/Flop for both hands: standard to bet/call.
After the hand, hero definitely started adjusting to tightening up against Vil9.

---------------
Hero's stack: 3900 just before break
Hero dealt in MP: Tx 9s 8s 7s

Preflop:
(folds to Vil7)
Vil7: raises to ~300
Hero: raises to ~900
Vil9: reraises to ~3000 all in
Vil7: reraises
Hero: calls

Vil7: shows AAxx (may have had flush draw)
Vil9: shows AAxx (may have had flush draw)

Board: Qx Qx Jx 9x 7x (rainbow flop, no one had flush draw on turn)

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero decides to isolate Vil7 with strong holding. When hero is reisolated, hero decides that there is enough equity to call. Hero is fortunate to double up.

---------------
Hero's stack at break to level 3 - 8800 @ 75/150

---------------
Updated Reads:
Player 2 busted

1 young middle aged guy with glasses
5 young middle aged uy with glasses

(3 players - 1200 in pot)
Turn: Jh 5h Tx 9x

Vil4: checks
Hero: bets 750
Vil2: folds
Vil4: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard call.
Flop: This is not a good flop to bet. There is little fold equity.
Turn: Both villains show no aggression, so hero decides to stab at pot and bet a lot of river cards.

---------------
Level 4 - Blinds 100/200
Updated Reads for New Players:

2 younger middle aged guy with cap
3 older male
6 Asian, young/middle aged

---------------
Hero dealt in BB: Ac Kx Jx Tc

Preflop:
Vil3 (EP): limps
(other players fold)
Hero (BB): checks

(2 players - 500 in pot)
Flop: Tx 2d 7x
both players check

(2 players - 500 in pot)
Turn: Tx 2d 7x Ad
Vil3: checks
Hero: bets 350
Vil3: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero can definitely raise in this spot preflop with a relatively strong holding.
Flop: There is some merit to betting to get value from straight draws. Hero decides to pot control because there are many "brick" turns.
Turn: This is a good turn card. Hero bets and no one calls.

---------------
Updated Reads:
Vil9 - did not try to make thin river bet with nut straight on flushing river
Vil9 - tight player - wakes up

---------------
Hero dealt on button: Ah 8c 4c 3h

On this board: Ax Td 9d 2s
Hero likely saw tight villain wake up (seat 9) and bet. Hero folds top pair + gut shot.

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: Ax Kd Kx 8d

Preflop:

Vil3: calls

(2 players - 6200 in pot)
River: Ax Kx 2s 8s Tx
Hero: checks
Vil3: checks

Hero: Shows KKxx
Vil3: mucks

Analysis:
Preflop: Stacks are too deep to re-raise.
Flop: Hero could lead flop, but did not since it was so dry. It's a style thing and hero probably should have considered donking the flop.
Turn: Hero decides to mix it up and donk the turn though with flush draw coming.
River: Hero decides to check/call river. Maybe this is actually a better spot to bet, tbh. Many worse hands (Top 2 pair) could call.
If villain had a broadway wrap that got there, that is unfortunate. Villain may bluff random Axxx with flush draw, etc... on the river.

---------------
Blinds: 100/200
Hero dealt in SB: Jc 8s 7s 6c
Vil4: had rarely reraised at table

Vil3 (UTG+2): raises to 450
Vil4: reraises
Vil3: folds
(folds to hero)
Hero: decides to fold

Vil3 talked with hero the next day. Hero said he made nitty fold with that hand because villain had rarely re-raised and hero was trying to avoid big confrontations with stacks that were similar stack size (at the time, both players were fairly deep with 55-60 BBs).
It's a bit of a nitty spot, but it seemed like the right play.

---------------
Hero probably dealt: Ax Xx Xx Xx (Ax suited)

(4 players - 800 in pot)
Flop: Ax Qx 5x (rainbow, hero likely has bdfd)
Vil6: bets 600
Vil7: folds
Hero: calls
BB: folds

(2 players - 2000 in pot)
Turn: Ax Qx 5x Ax (flush draw on turn)
both players check

(2 players - 2000 in pot)
River: Ax Qx 5x Ax 9c
Hero: bets 1350
Vil6: folds

Analysis (assuming hero's projected holding):
Flop: Hero check/calls with Axxx + backdoor flush draw. Hero decides to avoid raising a weak top pair only hand although there may be fold equity on dry board.
Turn: Hero should be betting for value. When villain checks, it is a lot of weak semi-bluff hands hoping to see a river card.
River: A thin value bet with naked Axxx (unless hero has like AK/AJ, then it's more of a value bet since weaker Axxx may call river), but hero thinks villain may bluff catch anyway (maybe like KQJT/KQJ9, etc...).

---------------
Hero's stack at level 5: 12925 @ 150/300

---------------
Updated Table Reads:
6 younger guy with baseball cap

---------------
Hero was dealt this hand, but folded preflop: Kx Qx Qh Th
Flop: Jx 9x 2x (rainbow)

Vil3 (button): bets
Vil6: calls

Hero also saw Vil5 raise a bunch of players PSB preflop (~1300), then bet smallish (1400) on K92r flop.

---------------
Hero dealt in MP: 9h 8d 6d 4h

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 700
Vil3 (button): calls
Vil4 (SB): calls
Vil5 (BB): calls

(4 players - 2800 in pot)
Flop: Qx 2x Jx
all players check

(4 players - 2800 in pot)
Turn: Qx 2x Jx 4x
Vil4: checks
Vil5: bets pot (2800)
all other players fold

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard hand to raise
Flop/Turn: check/fold since hero has little equity.

---------------
Hero dealt in HJ: Qd Jd Td 8x

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 700
Vil9: calls
(1 other player calls)

(3 players - 2550 in pot)
Flop: 4c 3d 7h
Hero: checks
Vil9: bets 700
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: standard
Flop: Hero has no equity and should c/f often.

---------------
Read: Villain 2 had sat down about a rotation ago and seemed aggressive.

Hero dealt in CO: 7x 6x 4s 3s

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 700
Vil1 (SB): calls
Vil2 (BB): calls

(3 players - 2550 in pot)
Flop: 4s Tc 9c
all players check

(3 players - 2550 in pot)
Turn: 4s Tc 9c 8s
Vil1: bets 1700
Vil2: folds
Hero: calls

(2 players - 5950 in pot)
River: 4s Tc 9c 8s 3x
Vil1: bets 3600
Hero: thinks for a bit, replays hand, then calls.
Vil2: mucks hand before hero shows anything

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise with a semi-connected rundown.
Flop: Hero has little fold equity.
Turn: There is some merit in raising and trying to get value from flush draws that are semi-bluffing. It would be a bit thin as the other straights would call.
River: Given hero's read (and just villains in general), this should be a relatively easy call down. Nothing changed in terms of board texture. Villain will probably barrel flush draws on river that missed.
Also, villain 3 is a likely thinking player and understands that 2 barrelling is essential in PLO this board.
Vil6 says he would have called a long time ago.

---------------
Hero's stack at table switch: 17225 @ 150/300

---------------
Second Table Reads (towards Brasilia Blue near front/left of room):
1 middle aged guy
2 hero
3 guy with long beard and glasses; said he is from Columbus
4 young mid aged fit guy
5 old Asian (same as first table towards the end of it)
6 Boston Red Sox cap - middle aged guy
7 mid aged guy
8 mid aged guy with mohawk
9 young guy with glasses (right after dinner, Ben Yu)

At this point, Vil5 also mentioned that he was very sleepy after playing very long in the 10k LO8 championship the day before (then cash games before the PLO MTT).

---------------
Hero dealt in MP? position: Ad Ax Kd 7x

Preflop:
Vil9: raises to ~1000
Hero: calls
Vil6: calls
Vil7: calls

(4 players - 4600 in pot)
Flop: 2x 3s 6s

(hero folds)
Analysis:
Preflop: Hero's stack is too deep to 3 bet.
Flop: Standard fold.

---------------
Read:
Hero saw Vil4 3 bet preflop with Ax Kx Kd 5d

---------------
Vil5's stack: 15k

Hero is dealt in EP: Ax Ac 9c 3c

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: limps
Vil5: raises to 1800
(folds to hero)
Hero: calls

(2 players - 4200 in pot)
Flop: Jx 8h 7h
both players check

(2 players - 4200 in pot)
Turn: Jx 8h 7h 8x
Hero: bets 2250
Vil5: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard, as there's not enough to limp/re-raise (plus turning hand face up).
Flop: Hero is check/folding.
Turn: Hero decides to likely fire two barrels (turn/river). The bet sizing seems ok to put in 1/2 of stack in and be able to fold to raise.

---------------
Hero saw this massive 4 way all in pot, but unfortunately doesn't remember preflop action.

Vil3 (9k)  - As Ks Kx 4x
Vil4 (20k) - Js Tc 9s 8h
Vil8 (3k)  - Ac Ad 7c 7h
Vil1 (10k) - Qs 9c Tx 9c

Board: 5d 4h Qh Jc 2h

It took a good couple minutes to chop the pot properly.

Analysis:
Vil1 should be folding often.

---------------
Hero did try to play a small pot just before dinner break against Vil4 with hero in LP steal. Hero ended up folding to turn check raise.

---------------
Hero's stack at dinner: 12650 @ 250/500
Hero also saw that the table was likely to break after dinner. Hero put over/under at 3 hands. But, hero forgot to account for end of late registration.

---------------
Ultimately, table broke after 5 hands.

---------------
Third Table Reads: (Table 31, Seat 7 in Brasilia)
1 seat 7 from 2nd table (mohawk), eventually Brian from HORSE/google (bald guy)
2 middle aged Arab guy (had large number of chips - easily chip leader with over 150k at time - Mo Khan, day 1 chip leader - http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/updates.asp?rr=5&grid=1136&tid=14226&dayof=142261)
3 caucasian male with cap
4 gray hair with WSOP hoodie
5 mid aged guy with cap
6 younger guy
7 hero
8 young mid aged guy with ipad, cap (foreigner)
9 young middle aged guy with red hair (foreigner) also watching videos

---------------
Level 7 - Blinds: 250/500
Hero dealt UTG+1: Ax As 8s 3x

Preflop:
Hero (UTG+1): raised to 1100
Vil2: calls
(other players fold)

(2 players - 2950 in pot)
Flop: 9c 7s 2x (rainbow)
Hero: checks
Vil2: bets 1500
Hero: folds

---------------
eventually, Vil3 doubles through Vil2 and gets close to 100+k as well.

---------------
Hero dealt in BB: Ad Tx 8d 6d

Preflop:
Vil4: raised
Vil5: called
Hero: could have called.

Board: Jd 9d 2x 9x 2x
Villains get all in by river (not sure of exact action. it was probably bet/call the whole way to river).
River:
Vil4: bets ?
Vil5: raises all in
Vil4: calls

Vil4: showed JJxx
Vil5: showed KJ99

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero had a gapped suited ace. OOP, there's no problem folding it with only 2 other players in the pot. Hero would have to check/fold a ton of boards (except this one, hero would c/r all in).

---------------
Thoughts:
Hero has 15BB, should hero be raising with AAxx? It seems like the right play, although limp/reraising can get lots of folds depending on villain's competency. Maybe it's better to limp/re-raise rundowns for balance.

Hero dealt UTG: Ah Ad 6h 3d

Preflop:
Hero: limped
Hero eventually folds to flop bet.

---------------
Fourth Table Reads (Table #16):
1 hero
2 middle eastern guy with sunglasses
3 Mike Leah
4 young guy with glasses
5 bald mid aged guy with glasses
6 younger guy - spikey dyed hair
7 old guy with cap
8 young guy with hoodie
9 guy with headphones, spiked one outer early on

Note: If table #17 completely empties, hero is ITM.

At the time, there were 20 tables still in play (at most 180 players for 144 pay spots).

---------------
Hero's stack: about 6300
1st hand at new table
Blinds: 400/800

Hero dealt in BB: Ax Ah 8h 3x

Preflop:
folds to Vil7 in CO
Vil7: raises to 3000
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises all in
Vil7: calls

Vil7: shows QQ99 (possibly with 1 suit).
Board: did not write down, but no flush draws or straight possibilities.

Hero doubles.

Analysis: Standard play.

---------------
Vil9 had just doubled after spiking a 1 outer a couple hands earlier.

Hero's stack (effective stacks) - 13k
Hero dealt in UTG+2: Ax As 9s 3x

Preflop:
Vil9 (UTG): raises
Hero: thinks for a while, then raises to 5k
(other players fold)
Vil9: calls

Flop: Kx Jx 5x (rainbow)
Vil9: says "I bet pot."
Hero: goes into the tank.

Hero thinks for 2 minutes, still not sure what to do.
Mike Leah says "nothing personal, but I'm calling clock."

Floor eventually comes over.
Floor announces "You have 1 minute to act on your hand."
Hero thinks through things some more, then folds with 5-10 seconds remaining. Hero thanks floor for the time.

Mike Leah commented that hero was very kind/courteous even though clock was called. He alluded to the fact that hero might be Canadian.
Hero and Mike eventually talk and seem friendly throughout the rest of the day of play.

Analysis:
Preflop: This is pretty much a mistake IP. Hero does not have strong aces. Villain could donk a bunch of flops and hero is left in a guessing game. Hero should be preserving chips, and a flat call/set mine is best.

After the day was over, Vil9 says "I had a huge hand - AKQJ. I was afraid it was going to check around."
Hero's reply: "...would have checked the flop since it's such a dry board and figure things out on the turn."

---------------
Hero's stack: 7200 @ 400/800
Hero dealt in BB: Ax Kx Kc 2c

Preflop:
(folds to button)
Vil8: raises to 1800
Vil9 (SB): folds
Hero: re-raises all in
Vil8: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero is fortunate to get a fold. This is an easy shove because hero does not believe with 5BBs that he will survive. Hero is not really looking to have to see showdown, but hero likely does not have enough chips to get ITM (it was a bit close with 6 BBs once I pass the SB and 2 or so tables to go.)

Hero's stack: 8400 after small blind passes.

---------------
Hero folds another rotation. Hero's stack down to 7200.

Twitter:

8:54PM PST - How long is the bubble in WSOP Plo MTTs? Last table then itm. 8.5 big blinds.
9:01PM PST - A couple to the money. With 8.5 big blinds.
9:14PM PST - Bubble watch. Hand for hand. 7200 500 1000. 21 min left.
9:19PM PST - Bubble did not actually happen. Guy busted just as they declared. Itm :)

---------------
Once the bubble burst, there were a quick flurry of eliminations. Some wanted to quickly bust/double and play Monster Stack.
Mike Leah wanted to late register the 10k Stud Hi event.

---------------
At the 10 minute mark, floor randomly determines that 4 hands are played.
Hero's last hand is in the SB.

There were no playable hands for hero in the interim.

---------------
Hero's stack at end of day 1: 5700 @ 600/1200 in Level 11.
15 players busted in 21 minutes once the money bubble burst.

129 players remain to start day 2.
Hero's stack: 5700 @ 600/1200.
