WSOP 1000 PLO MTT at Rio Day 2

1000 PLO MTT at Rio - Day 2

---------------
First Table Reads:
1
2 hero
3
4
5
6
7
8
9

Given hero's stack size, hero did not really research the normal day 2 prep that would normally occur (researching table draws, etc...).
Hero should have done this anyway just in case for a good run. A mistake that hopefully will not happen again.

---------------
Hero's stack: 5700 @ 600/1200.

---------------
129 players remain to start day 2.
Hero has second shortest stack of remaining 129 entries.
Next pay jump: 117 entries ($1,815 -> $1,978)

Hero was placed in seat 2, so hero immediately had to pay BB and SB.
1 person busted in 1st hand at table (took 5-6 minutes). Villain had 30k @ 600/1200 (25 BBs).

Hero saw 5 players bust from 129 starting the day in 2 hands. 124 left.

---------------
Hero's stack: 3900

Hero's 3rd hand:
Hero dealt on button: Qx Qx 9x 7x

Vil9 (CO): raises to 4200
Hero: calls
BB: calls

(3 players - 11700 in main pot, 600 in side pot, 1 player all in)
Flop: 7s 5s 3x
Vil5: checks
Vil9: bets pot
Vil5: raises all in
Vil9: calls

Vil5: shows 64xx
Vil9: shows flush draw

Vil5 wins the pot.
Hero was drawing dead.

Analysis:
This might have been slightly rushed decision and not as thought through at the time. QQxx is definitely worth shoving against 1 random villain.
ICM might say it's actually +EV to sit on hands in this spot for ~18% buy in jump). Eliminations were happening quickly and hero can guarantee a small pay jump by waiting for 7 people to bust. Hero doubling more chips does not really guarantee much.

---------------
Hero received payout slip after busting.

Hero bumped into an old Asian male at the payout line (who was falling asleep at the first couple tables after running deep in the 10k LO8. He just busted after hero.
Hero also talked with 1 person about the ICM questions.

Hero went to payout desk, showed ID, and it was entered in system for payout in the payout area (which can be picked up at any time before WSOP finishes.)

Hero out in 124th of 1,293 players (largest WSOP PLO event to date). Hero is fortunate to have first WSOP cash. Hero noticed there was some weak play throughout the tournament too.
