600 PLO8 MTT at Venetian Day 2

600 PLO8 MTT at Venetian
Hero's stack for restart: 48000 @ 1500/3000.

---------------
First Table Reads (back of room - left or middle table):
1 hero
2 young guy
3 old Asian/gray beard
4 young guy with glasses; eventually said he was mad that people were taking so long
5 [empty], eventually Jay from day 1 PLO8
6 young guy with grinderschool.com logo (Tobias H.)
7 young/mid aged African American guy
8 mid aged guy
9 young, middle aged guy

---------------
Level 14 - Blinds: 1500/3000

Hero had pretty much folded every hand for 1.5-2 rotations.
Hero had folded Ac Kx 7c 4x to Vil6's min raise when hero was in BB.
Hero's stack: 43000

Hero dealt in UTG: Ax Qc Qx 5c

Preflop:
Hero: raises to 6000
(folds to Vil6)
Vil6: calls

(2 players - 16500 in pot)
Flop: Jc 9x 4s
Hero: bets 7000
Vil6: calls

(2 players - 30500 in pot)
Turn: Jc 9x 4s 6c
Hero: bets 15000
Vil6: calls

(2 players - 60500 in pot)
River: Jc 9x 4s 6c 8h
Hero: bets 15000 (all in)
Vil6: grimaces/folds.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero decides to open somewhat loosely UTG. Hero remembers read from a friend that Vil6 is an experienced player in PLO8 and all games in general.
Flop: Hero bets somewhat small with overpair, hero gets called and plans to fire 2 barrels.
Turn: Hero picks up some equity on the turn and continues firing.
River: A low completing river and only completing a bad OESD. Hero decides to continue with aggression. Hero's range is really strong. The triple barrel is a bit optimistic. Many AAxx with wheel or 2p+nut low (or 2nd nut low). Hero was fortunate to get fold against thinking villain.

Hero's stack: 75500

---------------
Hero dealt in CO: Ac 8x 5x 3c

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 7000
Vil4: reraises all in
Hero: calls

Vil4: shows As 7x Kx Js

Board: 8x 6s 4s 5x Ts

Chop pot.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero was forced to bet call a smallish reraise. It's strength is not really great, but hero was hoping to see flop MW or with a deeper stack.

---------------
Hero dealt on Button: Ax Ac Jx 8c

Preflop:
(folds to hero on button)
Hero: raises to 6500
Vil3 (SB): calls
Vil4 (BB): folds

(2 players - 17500 in pot)
Flop: Ah 4h 3x
Vil3: checks
Hero: checks

(2 players - 17500 in pot)
Flop: Ah 4h 3x 2h
Vil3: bets 12000
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard
Flop: Standard check. There's not much merit to betting because hero is either way behind (to 52xx) or getting freerolled for half.
Turn: Worst turn card in the deck. There are so many wheel and/or flush combinations. Hero folds to any bet.

---------------
Level 15 - Blinds: 2000/4000

Hero folded Qx Qs 3s 2x to CO raise.
Hero made tight fold with As Ks Qx Tx in SB against Vil8 (nit) open

Hero dealt in CO: As 4x 3s 2x

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 9000
(other players fold)
Vil3: calls
Vil4 (short stack, ~5BB in BB): calls

(3 players - 29000 in pot)
Flop: Ax Tx 2x (rainbow)
Vil4: checks
Hero: bets 15000
Vil3: folds
Vil4: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero would bet/call a shove by Vil4.
Flop: Standard bet.

---------------
Hero dealt on button: Ax 9c 7c 5x
Read: Vil3: has hero covered and is playing very loose.

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 8000
Vil2 (But): folds
Vil3 (SB): calls
Vil4 (BB): folds

(2 players - 20000 in pot)
Flop: Qx Kx Kc
both players check

(2 players - 20000 in pot)
Turn: Qx Kx Kc 8s
both players check

(2 players - 20000 in pot)
River: Qx Kx Kc 8s Qs
Vil3: checks
Hero: bets 10500
Vil3: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Suited ace/wheel is decent open even against a loose defender. Hero thinks there is sufficient enough edge postflop to proceed.
Flop: Standard check with 100% of hero's range.
Turn: Some merit in double barrelling, but a check is fine.
River: Hero sees that villain does not want to fight for pot. Hero bets about the same size with entire part of range, and villain folds.

---------------
With field down to 26 players, there was no bubble!

2 players (including 1 player who sounded like he was a local LV reg who is an annoyance to others) busted the bubble at the same time.

---------------

4 mid aged Asian

6 young guy with grinderschool.com logo (Tobias H.)
7 (new player) old guy with Superman cap
8 younger guy with UNLV cap

Vil6: calls
(other players fold)

(3 players - 37500 in pot)
Flop: Kh 8h 4d
Hero: bets 20000
Vil4: folds
Vil6: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise. Min raises seemed to be the standard size.
Flop: Hero is bet/calling. Hero has additional fold equity due to nut flush blocker.

---------------
7 handed
Hero dealt in BB: Ah Th 9x 3h

Preflop:
Vil4: raises to 17500
(folds to hero)
Hero: calls

(2 players - 37500 in pot)
Flop: 7x 5x 8x (rainbow)
both players check

(2 players - 37500 in pot)
Turn: 7x 5x 8x 6x Qx (rainbow)
Hero: bets 20000
Vil4: reraises pot
Hero: calls (all in)

Vil4: shows A542 rainbow

River: 7x 5x 8x 6x Qx

Pot is chopped.

Analysis:
Preflop: This is an ok defend with suited A3.
Flop: Hero has little high hand strength on a 3 low board. There is little fold equity. Both reasons = check.
Turn: Hero has nut straight + 2nd nut low and bet/calls. Standard play.

---------------
Hero dealt in HJ: Ah Ax 5x 2h

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 10000
(folds to Vil5)
Vil5 (BB): calls

(2 players - 22500 in pot)
Flop: 9x 4x 3x (rainbow)
Vil5: checks
Hero: bets 12000
Vil5: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise
Flop: Standard play to bet/call with overpair + wrap uncounterfeitable nut low.

---------------
Level 16 break - Hero's stack: 133k @ 3k/6k
Hero's tweet: Playing decent. 133k 3 and 6. 20 left.

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG (6 handed): Ad Jx 5x 3x
Read: Vil9 - seemed to be playing tight, but also saw some raises and aggression throughout his time at the table. Hero had been continuation betting often.

Preflop:
Hero: raises to 10000
(folds to Vil9)
Vil9 (BB, ~170k): calls

(2 players - 22500 in pot)
Flop: Kx 3d Qh
Vil9: checks
Hero: bets 14500
Vil9: raises to 43000
Hero: thinks for a while, then calls

Turn: Kx 3d Qh 6h
Vil9: bets pot
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise with ABww plus hero seemed to be getting a lot of fold equity on flop.
Flop: This was probably a spew. Hero should have simply played a turn card.
Hero compounds mistake by calling Vil9's raise. There are so few turn cards that hero can float or do well against. Hero does not have stack depth to get to river.

Hero's stack: 69000

---------------
Hero stole blinds to move up to 78000.

---------------
Hero dealt in BB: Ad Kc Qd Jc

Preflop:
Vil4: raises to 21000
Vil?: calls
Hero: calls

(3 players - 72000 in pot)
Flop: Td 4d 3x
Vil4: bets pot
Vil?: folds
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero has strong broadway hand. Good to call.
Flop: Hero missed board and with insufficient stack depth, this is a standard check/fold.

---------------
Two Table Consolidation - Player Reads:
1 Asian guy - middle aged (seat 4 in last table)
2 young, middle aged guy (seat 9 in last table)
3 young female Asian (hero played with her yesterday)
4 old guy/glasses
5 young guy - t-shirt/sleeve
6 old guy
7 young guy with iPhone
8 UNLV cap, young quiet guy
9 hero

---------------
As with the previous tournament, hero sits down and has to play BB after just paying BB and SB before 2 table consolidation.

Hero folds BB and SB and another full rotation. Hero's stack: 27k

---------------
Level 18 - Blinds: 4000/8000
16 players left (8 handed)
Hero dealt in SB: As Tx 3x 2s

Preflop:
(folds to Vil3)
Vil3 (UTG+1): raises to 18000
(folds to hero)
Hero: raises to 40000 (all in)
(folds to Vil3)
Vil3: asks for count, then calls

Vil3: shows Ax 7x 5x 2c

Board: Kx 9x 7x 4x Qx (hero does not remember exact run out, but hero believes that villain paired 7 (or possibly 5) and no low draw came on board. Hero did not pair.

Analysis:
Preflop: There is some merit to flat and see flop (ie: stop and go), but it could be played with 3 bet as by hero.

---------------
Hero: out in 15th of 223 entries.

There was a stronger mix of tougher players compared to an early WSOP table draw. But, there were still plenty of fish.
