WSOP 2016 - Overall Thoughts

Overall Thoughts:

Trip Regrets:
1. Why did Planet Hollywood have to cancel their big 600 PLO 2 flight MTT? Hero realizes they overbooked with the large NLHE Goliath MTT, but that was a really good tournament on many people's calendars. Hero was fortunate to look at Planet Hollywood's Twitter (https://twitter.com/ph_poker/status/745835433980989441) to see the cancellation and notified a couple friends.

2. Hero did not really play that much cash games. There were spots where hero could have, but I did not manage my time well.
Hero also thought about playing a PLO8/LO8/Big O SNG as additional preparation for the corresponding WSOP event (in addition to the GN event), but decided to socialize instead. It was a close decision.

3. There was some chance to jumping in and playing that PLO/PLO8/Big O MTT, but I had caution b/c of size of buyin. Normally, I have fired bullets even with 20-25 BB (Aria), but I paused on this 4 figure MTT. I am sure there were soft spots, but I decided against it.

4. Hero needs to get better at writing hand histories for HU play. It was really tough, and notes were extremely sparse :(

Miscellaneous Thoughts and Observations:
5. Hero noticed his play improved as the trip continued. This has been normal for many of the longer trips.

6. Food comps were simply credited to Total Rewards card instead of paper vouchers. Hero is not sure if value is better in this respect.

Positives:
7. Hero caught up with many poker playing friends (although some were only very briefly), while meeting new people throughout the circuit.

8. It was great to play first ever live HU tournament. Hero thought structure was quite good, but hero also was ways to improve. It was not surprising to see the tournament sell out.

9. Hero was happy to have played well in many of the tournaments.
It was the first time hero had to rebook flight/hotel for an extended stay for a trip. A WSOP day 3 was a good reason to do it versus makinng a mistake.
