Analysis:
Preflop: Standard since hero is in position and has 3 low cards (although 1 of them is an 8).
Flop: Hero does not learn lesson from previously. Vil1 was more prone to checking flops even as PFR, so this seemed ok.
Hero can consider betting this flop when checked to with a wrap as a semi-bluff. While it is understandable to try not get blown off a possible nut draw, hero should also try to find fold equity. Vil1 could also have a full house though.
Turn: Hero is led into again in a 3 bet pot. Hero is forced to tank and fold. It was close as hero actually hit the card, but still managed to fold.
After hand, Vil1 mentioned he had trip kings with a flush draw.

Analysis:

Flop: This is a debatable check or c-bet. Hero has some equity on a 2 high board, so hero decides to try to get to showdown cheaply.
Turn: Hero can be many bluffs and has bad backdoor low draw. Hero decides to continue and try to get to showdown cheaply, and/or perhaps value bet some rivers (low completing.
River: This was not a low completing river. Hero may not get value from betting with top and 3rd pair, so hero checks. (Additionally, with hero shorter stack, thinner river value bets become even worse if they are wrong.)

Overall Thoughts:
Hero is fortunate to get tournament cash in inaugural event.
This event played like a limit tournament, but with options to double up quickly in the big bet games. This seems to be the strategy trend in most mixed limit tournaments.
The big bet games played relatively deep the whole way through the tournament.
There was a mix of players of varying skill levels.
