240 PLO MTT at Choctaw Casino Durant

5000 starting stack with 25/50 blinds and 30 min. levels

First Table Reads:

1 old male w/ glasses
2 mid-old aged male
3 lady with Samsung Galaxy poker table holder
4 old fat male
male (mid aged) w/ tattoo
6 "Bugsy" (older man with cowboy hat)
7 male
8 young male
9 hero

---------------
Hero late registered after leaving late and getting confused on the final location. Hero started at level 2 (blinds 50/100).

---------------
Blinds: 75/150

Hero dealt in SB: Ah Kh Jd 7d

(Preflop)
3 players limp
SB (Hero): calls
BB: checks

(5 players - 750 in pot)
Flop: Kc Jd Ks
all players check

(5 players - 750 in pot)
Turn: Kc Jd Ks 2s
all players check

(5 players - 750 in pot)
River: Kc Jd Ks 2s 7x
Hero: thinks for 2-3 seconds, then bets 300
Vil2: calls

Hero shows Kings Full of Jacks
Vil2: folds

Analysis:
Prefelop: Hero could reraise OOP, but hero decides to play small pot.
Flop/Turn: Hero has board crushed with top boat. The right play is to check/raise (hoping villain overplays JJxx or AKxx) if any villains bet.
River: Players seemed weak enough that hero could venture a small "value bet" to make it look like a steal.

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG+1: As Ks 9x 8x

UTG: folds
UTG+1 (Hero): raises to 350
2 players call behind hero (possibly button and UTG+3?)

(3 players - 1275 in pot)
Flop: Jx 7s 3x (hero has BDFD)
Hero: bets 575
both players fold

Analysis:
Preflop: This may be slightly weak to raise UTG+1.
Flop: Hero had been playing TAGish up to this point. This is actually a dry enough board to cbet with intention of firing a gutshot or back door nut flush draw on turn.

---------------
Hero's stack: ~6000?

---------------
Second Table Reads:

1 old male w/ glasses (from 1st table)
2 old male with cap
3 old male
4 "Bugsy" from 1st table
old male with glasses
6 hero
7 old male with glasses
8 middle aged male
9 middle aged male

---------------
Blinds:
Hero dealt in UTG+2: Ah Jh 7x 5x

Preflop:
2 players fold
UTG+2 (Hero): limps
Vil7 (HJ): calls
(player fold)
Vil2 (SB): calls
Vil3 (BB): checks

(4 players - 600 in pot)
Flop: Ax 7h 3h (hero has NFD)
Vil2: checks
Vil3: checks
Hero: bets 525
Vil7: calls
Vil2: calls
Vil3: folds

(3 players - 2175 in pot)
Turn: Ax 7h 3h 5s (hero has NFD)
Vil2: bets pot (2175)
Hero: calls
Vil7: folds

(2 players - 6525 in pot)
River: Ax 7h 3h 5s 9s
Vil2: bets pot (all in)
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: This seemed ok to try to play a multi-way pot. Hero was not really sure of preflop fold equity.
Flop: This is standard. Hero has super strong hand.
Turn: Villain's donking range is "I hit gutshot, I need to bet for value". Villain could have picked up set, etc... Hero does not think there is fold equity, so hero calls. Looking back at the shallow structure, it might have been more prudent to go all in and just re-enter.
River: Hero bricked and top + 3rd pair is not strong given villain's donk betting range. Hero could hope for villain continuing semi-bluff into real bluff on river, but hero really did not have read to believe this would work.

---------------
Hero's stack: ~3500

---------------
Tweet: 17bbs - hero OOP with AA on 97729 (2 tone on flop/brick river) - hero was pfr and barrelled 2 streets...hero should c/c river?
Hero does not remember exact hand.

Blinds likely: 100/200

Preflop:
Hero: raised to 450
Vil?: calls

(2 players - 1200 in pot)
Flop: 977 (two tone, hero has no FD)
Hero: bets 700
Vil?: calls

(2 players - 2600 in pot)
Turn: 9772 (two tone, hero has no FD)
Hero: bets 1500
Vil?: calls

River: 97729 (two tone, hero has no FD)
Hero: checks
Vil?: bets large
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Flop: This seemed ok, although check back works too. It's a big metagame puzzle as people's ranges are completely polarized.
Turn: Same as flop.
River: Hero does not remember exact context. Villains seemed to be more NLHE players taking shots. A triple barrel and/or c/c river seems a little spewy w/o reads.

---------------
Third Table Reads:

(6 players - short handed with ~20-22 players)
1 Asian player
3 old guy with cap
4 hero
6 older guy with glasses
7 lady
9 old guy

---------------
Blinds: 200/400
Hero's stack: ~2.2k

Hero dealt on button: Ax As 5s 3y

Preflop:
Vil2 (~20k+): limps
Vil3 (~20k+): limps
Hero: raises to 800
Vil6 (SB, ~10k): calls
Vil7 (BB, ~10k): calls

(5 players - 4000 in pot)
Flop: 7c 6c 6x
Vil6: checks
Vil7: checks
Vil2: checks
Vil3: bets 2100
Hero: thinks for a while, then folds
other players fold

Analysis:
Preflop: This seemed like best play to try to get as much money in the middle.
Flop: This seemed like a weird spot. Villain made the right play with such small bet that hero is forced to call or not, but is it standard to bet in this spot?
With hero's stack size, is this a "hero is too short even though MW to fold"? Villain's range is suspicious for that particular bet size.

---------------
Blinds: 200/400
Hero's stack: 800
Hero dealt in UTG: Qh Jc Tc 4h

Preflop:
Hero: raises all in
2 players call

(3 players - 2400-3000 in pot)
Board: 226T7
One player shows 62xx and wins pot.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero felt this hand was better than a random hand in the BB. Hero was absolutely correct!

---------------
2nd entry:

Hero re-entered after 7 minute delay waiting in line. One other person busted at the same time as me. We both re-entered at same time and were put at different tables to start.
Hero re-entered at level 6.

Starting stack: 5000
Blinds: 200/400

Table was being played 6-7 handed with ~19 runners.
One of the other players was trying to figure out over/under with hero and came up with 17 at end of late registration.

This other player (seated at 3rd table to hero's right) was correct with 17 runners.

(7 players at table)
Dealt to hero in UTG: 9876r

Preflop:
Hero raises to 1400
all players fold

---------------
2 hands later, players were consolidated to 2 tables. If there were 19+, 3 tables would have continued.

2nd Entry - 2nd Table Reads:

1 hero
2 male - tinted sunglasses
3 woman
4 old male with glasses
5 empty
old male with glasses
7 male with KU cap
8 young male with cap
9 young male with cap

---------------
Hero's stack at new table: 5600

---------------
Level 7
Blinds: 250/500

Hero had 5050 to start
Hero dealt in UTG: As Qh Ts 8h

Preflop:
Hero: raised to 1200
Vil3 (UTG+2): calls
Vil8 (BB): calls

(3 players - 3850 in pot)
Flop: Ad 6d 3h
Vil8: checks
Hero: bets 3850 (all in)
Vil3: folds
Vil8: calls

Vil8: Shows Ax Kd 7x 6x

Board: Ad 6d 3h 7s Jc

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard open raise with strong DS hand.
Flop: Hero has 3 overs to board. Hero's equity is decent as long as villain doesn't have set. Even with villain's top 2 pair hand, hero has 3 live overs.
Nothing can really change in this spot. This is a normal play for both players.

---------------
Hero out in 15th of 63 entries. The field seemed soft, but hero was unable to capitalize. Hero played decently.
After 6 levels at 30 min. blinds with blind level ending at 200/400, hero is not surprised only 17 players remained. There were some double barrels, but many others went to play the $150 NLHE MTT or cash games after firing 1 barrel.
Hero did not have to fire 2nd barrel, but hero decided to be like on Merge and try to squeak into the money or better (like on merge).
