Hero may have violated "poker etiquette", but it absolutely seemed like the right thing to do. In a spot where 2 villains thought they were scooping, hero looked at board a couple times, then cringed.
Immediately, player in seat 6 saw my reaction as the cards were being shuffled and noted that something was wrong. Thankfully, chips were given to the rightful owners.

Preflop raise is for value as villain was a maniac. Hero raises for value against a wide calling range.
Unfortunately, another player calls. It's not a completely horrible spot 3 ways.
Hero could have also flatted behind as well as hero likely has an edge with position...

Overall analysis:
1. This was hero's first live NLO8 MTT.
2. Hero had played some NLO8 MTTs on Bovada prior to this MTT in preparation (plus watching videos such as "In a Nutshell" and talking strat with various friends.
3. The field was very weak-tight and limped often (as is the case in many PLO8/PLO cash games and MTTs.
4. Hero really only saw 1 overbet jam (it was a big semi-bluff), but otherwise it was rather weak tight and players weren't making any big bets. It felt more like a NLHE MTT with smaller bet sizes.
5. There were definitely few flop c/r all ins, which seemed to be the trend in a lot of NLO8 cash/MTTs.
6. Villains seemed to be limping preflop very often, even with ~7-8 BB.
