365 NLHE MTT with Re-Entry at Harrah's Cherokee

10000 starting stack with 25/50 blinds and 30 min. levels

First Table Reads:

[none]

---------------
Hero showed up about 30 minutes late due to not feeling well and delays in finding lodging location and casino.
Hero late registered, but stood in line about 30 deep just for first bullet. At registration, hero was told that Total Rewards card was required, which hero misplaced. So, after about 10 minutes of going back down to Total Rewards desk to reprint a card, hero was able to go to "cut line" and finally register.

---------------
Level 3 - Blinds: 100/200

First hand after sitting down. Hero has no player reads.

Hero dealt in HJ: TT

Preflop:
Vil3: raises to 600
Vil6: calls
Vil7: raises to 2500
Vil3: thinks for a while, then folds
Vil6: raises AI to 8775
Hero: thinks for a while, then calls.

Vil6: shows AK

Board: Villain spikes A? on flop (hero doesn't remember)

Hero eventually hears that player 6 is a circuit regular.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero's raise IP was a bit too large. It could have easily been 1800-2000 (slightly less than pot since IP).
Villain's play was a really weird play. It's rarely AA-KK...but hero could be wrong.

Hero's stack: 1225

---------------
4th hand

Hero dealt UTG+2: 55

Preflop:
Vil5: calls
Vil8?: calls
Vil2: calls
Vil4: calls

(5 players - ~6125 in pot)
Board: 76JQA (rainbow)
Players checked all streets.

At least one player showed a pair (Q?) and won the pot.
Hero is out.

Hero noticed that many people are still limping at this level.

---------------
The line was only 10-15 deep before firing a second barrel.

---------------
Second Entry - First Table Reads:

2 old guy w/ cap; eventually new player with same profile
3 middle aged guy with cap
4 middle aged lady
young male
6 old guy - not paying attention
7 hero
8 old guy with glasses
9 middle aged guy w/ glasses
10 middle aged Indian male

---------------
Hero's starting stack: 10000
Level 6 - Blinds/Antes: 150/300/25

Hero dealt in BB: J9o

Preflop:
2? players limp
SB: folds
Hero: checks

(3 players - ~1050 in pot)
Flop: Js Jc 8c
(all players check)

(3 players - ~1050 in pot)
Turn: Js Jc 8c Qs
Hero: bets 500
Vil1: calls

(3 players - ~2050 in pot)
River: Js Jc 8c Qs 4d
Hero: bets 1200
Vil1: folds

Analysis:
Flop: With so many players, hero decides to slow play. Betting can work too in a
Turn: Hero decides to start building a pot and get value from Qx and/or trying to price out draws.
River: It could be a good metagame play to check the blank river. It might have been better, but hero decides to bet and hope to get value from Qx.

---------------
Additionally, hero lost some chips when flat calling raise in MW pot with a low pocket pair.

---------------
Hero's stack at first break:
11425 at 200/400/50.

---------------
Hero dealt in ?: 66

Hero: raises to 900
Vil10 (8.1k): raises to 2100
Hero: folds

Preflop: This seems standard since villain looked straightforward. There are not enough chips behind to make flat calling a 3b profitable.

---------------
Level 7 - Blinds/Antes: 200/400/50
Hero dealt in BB: KK

Preflop:
(folds to Vil4)
Vil4 (CO/20k): raises to 800

Vil4: bets 1200
Hero: calls

(2 players - 4700 in pot)
Turn: Ac Jx Qc 4s
both players check

(2 players - 4700 in pot)
River: Ac Jx Qc 4s 2d
both players check

Hero: shows KK
Vil4: mucks

Analysis:
Preflop: There's value in 3-bet pre, but hero decides to "slow play".
Flop: Hero decides that villain is likely cbetting often. Thus, hero decides to call 1, but probably not 2-3 streets of bets.
Turn: Hero continues playing properly in WAWB situation and pot controls.
River: A river bet is more likely a bluff than value, so hero decides to check.

Additionally: Hero determines that this player is likely a cbet/fold player and hero can likely float player IP.

---------------
Level 8 - Blinds/Antes: 250/500/50

Hero dealt in SB: KQo

Preflop:
(folds to Vil4)
Vil4 (HJ/20k): raises to 1500
(folds to hero)
Hero (SB/12k): calls
BB: folds

(2 players - 3500 in pot)
Flop: Ax Kc Tc Ax 2x
Hero: checks
Vil4: bets 3000
Hero: calls

(2 players - 9500 in pot)
Turn: Ax Kc Tc Ax 2x
both players check

(2 players - 9500 in pot)
River: Ax Kc Tc Ax 2x
both players check

Vil4: shows KQo and both players chop pot.

Analysis:
Flop/Turn/River: Based on previous hand, hero sticks to read and follows same plan as in previous hand.

---------------
Hero's hand: unknown

Preflop:
Vil6: limps
Hero: raises to 1500
Vil10: calls
Vil6: calls

Flop: Xx Xx Xx
Vil10: checks
Vil6: checks
Hero: bets 2300
Vil10: folds
Vil6: folds

Hero is solidifying read that table is pretty loose/weak and folds to preflop/cbet often.

---------------
Hero's hand: QQ

Preflop:
Vil1: limps
Vil2: folds
Vil3: limps
Vil4: folds
Vil5: folds
Vil6: limps
Hero: raises to 2500
(other players fold)
Vil1: folds
Vil3: folds
Vil6: calls

Flop: 6s 5s 4x
Vil1: checks
Hero: bets 2300
Vil1: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: The raise size seemed ok at 250/500/50 as hero would like to get players to call.
Flop: This is a likely bet/call.

---------------
Second Entry - Second Table Reads:
None

IIRC, Hero gets moved to new table but only briefly. Hero has no reads.

Hero's stack is 16075.

Hero also 3b a random with As 7s and villain folded immediately.
Hero is moved quickly to another table.

---------------
Hero's stack: 19600 on table change.

---------------
Second Entry - Third Table Reads:

1 mid aged guy with hoodie and cap
2 young aged Asian guy
3 guy with hoodie
4 mid aged guy
hero
6 middle aged guy
7 old guy with cap
8 young guy with hoodie
9 old guy with glasses and cap

---------------
Level 9 - Blinds/Antes: 300/600/75
Hero dealt in UTG+3: 77

Preflop:
Vil4 (UTG+2): raises to 1500
Hero: calls
(other players fold)

(2 players - 4575 in pot)
Flop: Qs 8c 4d
Vil4: bets 1600
Hero: calls

(2 players - 7775 in pot)
Turn: Qs 8c 4d 9s
Vil4: checks
Hero: bets 2700
Vil4: raises to 7k
Hero: thinks for a while, then folds
Vil4: flashes 44

Analysis:
Preflop: standard
Flop: Hero decides to float since villain may be cbetting with air.
Turn: Hero's bet may not have been that great. The line might be better to double barrel turn/river based on hero's bet size as villain can't really call 8x-JJ given multiple pressure on turn.
While there's a bunch of overs on the river, hero can check/decide IP on river and keep pot small.

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: QTo

Preflop:
(folds to hero in SB)
Hero (15k): raises to 1500
Vil6 (40k): calls

(2 players - 3675 in pot)
Flop: Ax 9x 4x (rainbow)
Hero: bets 2100
Vil6: raises to 5000
Hero: thinks for a while, then folds.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero's ahead of random hand. Raise size could have been 1100 though to keep pot small/give better price on "steal".
Flop: Since villain just saw hero lose a big pot 5 hands earlier, hero might be perceived as weak-tight.
Villain's small raise on flop is a little suspicious (although normal sized given that it's easier to toss a single denomination chip). Regardless, hero decides to fold and conserve stack.

---------------
Hero's stack: 9k

Hero dealt on button: Ac 7c

Preflop:
Hero: raises to 1500
Vil7 (30k): calls

(2 players - 3975 in pot)
Flop: Jx 5x Jx (rainbow)
Vil7: donks 3k
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: With M = 6 | 15BB, this should have been an open shove.
Hero decides to play conservative and see if villains are paying attention to stack sizes. This backfired on villain flop donk bet.

---------------
Level 10 - Blinds/Antes: 400/800/100
Hero's stack: 7200

Hero gets walk in BB, then folds SB.
Hero's stack: 7900

---------------
Hero's stack: 7825 (M ~ 4/10BB)
Hero dealt on button: J8o

Preflop:
Folds to hero
Hero: shoves
Vil6 (SB): re-raises
Vil7 (BB): folds

SB: shows AA

Board: TT384r

Analysis:
Preflop: standard with 10BBs.

Hero out around ~120 in this flight.

---------------
Analysis:
The field was extremely soft. Many players were open limping even at higher levels.
There were 1930 entries over 3 flights of multi/re-entry across all flights. For a $365 buyin, $91k for first! (~250x ROI)
