Post-WSOP, I've quietly moved up with a small online bankroll boost. I've "properly rolled" myself to play 50plo.
According to my DB, it looks like I'm a rakeback pro at 25plo for the past year (barely closing in on 0!, but keep losing flips :P) over a medium (15k) sample size. Combined with my prior volume on Full Tilt, this seems about right (I am pretty much a rakeback pro, although the trend has been more upward after leaking busting). I feel that I can learn faster (and not be a rake victim) by going onto 50plo - http://quadrophobia.com/5-leaks-that-leave-you-stuck-at-plo-50/. (My new favorite blog).
Obviously, this is an excuse and I feel it has way more to do with table selection (or my sometimes lazy desire to hang in there) and my "autopilot problems" than anything else.
Additionally, this has come at a cost:
1. I'm likely spewing now at 100plo8. I think I need to "warm up" better and try to ensure I put in adequate volume. The problem is...well, the game rarely gets off and most days, I'm "thinking" i can just jump into that game.
2. Being humble: I have to find the time to work on my small stakes PLO8 game if I want to be able to sit in at the (sometimes) soft PLO8 games. I don't think I really table selected in this spot, even though there were "fish" at the table. My mind was just in default barrelling mode.
Short Term Goals:
1. Proper warmup! Especially for the game(s) I plan to play that particular session (PLO8 especially since I don't focus on that as much anymore).
2. Quit playing 5+ tables. Close a table before going to 5 instead of trying to "scope the action" with multiple tables online.
3. Trying to avoid spew in live play. It happens periodically, but then I feel like I don't get into tough situations unless they're in bunches...
Ultimately, my "warmup" should look as follows:
1. take deep breath before acting.
2. slow down | be thorough & work through all aspects of hand.
3. observe, pay attention to details, and write notes in notepad
In terms of my "algorithm" for play:
1. examine villain bet size & analyze hands/ranges based on player/stack/range
2. work through & think ahead about all possible actions (and future action/cards)
3. remember hero's perception (for thinking players)
4. summarize/create actionable plans against villains
5. when raised/unexpected action, slow down and think through actions
