2-3 PLO-Big O Mix at Ocean's Eleven

2/3 PLO/Big O mix with 200-500 min-max buyin.

-------------
By the time hero sat at table, the rest of the table decided to only play Big O.

-------------
Hand History:

Reads:
Vil6: older guy
Vil8: had lost an earlier hand

-------------
Hero is seated in seat 9.

Hero dealt in MP?: Ax Kh 4x 4c 3h

Hand 1:
Preflop:
Vil6 (older guy): raises to 10
Vil7: calls
Vil8: calls
Hero: calls

(4 players - ~50 in pot)
Flop: 8x 5x 2d
Vil5: bets 40
Vil8: calls
Hero: calls

(3 players - ~190 in pot)
Turn: 8x 5x 2d 8s Jh
Vil5: bets 80
Vil8: calls
Hero: calls

(3 players - ~530 in pot)
River: 8x 5x 2d 8s Jh
Vil5: checks
Vil8: checks
Hero: hero bets all in (~370)
Vil5: folds
Vil8: calls

Vil8: shows 88xxx (IIRC)

Hero: chops pot

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard.
Turn: This is actually a tough call if it was a larger bet. Even if there's a good chance that hero is quartered, hero could also scoop or bluff some outs.
River: Hero decides to show aggression to try to win the pot. Hero gets one player to fold.

--------
Hero dealt in ??: Ah Kx Qx Jx Th

Preflop:
(unknown action, but likely hero limps behind other players)

(4 players - ~40 in pot)
Flop: 5x Qc 3c
(all players check)

(4 players - ~40 in pot)
Turn: 5x Qc 3c Kc
Vil?: bets 40
Vil?: folds
Hero: folds
Vil?: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Unknown, but a limp seems find.
Flop: Standard.
Turn: This is likely a call instead of a fold. Hero made a mistake by folding. If hero closes action, hero likely has enough equity to call.
River Plan:
It is unlikely hero would bluff flush cards, but it could be possible.
If a board pairing (non-hero making full house card) or high flush card came on river, hero would likely check behind instead of turning hand into bluff.
If a non-flush low came on board that completes a straight draw (4/6, most A or 2), this could be a fold too.
Hero would likely check-call all low river cards that do not make a straight.

-------------
Hero dealt in But: Ac Kx 5c 4x Tx

Preflop:
(folds to hero)
Hero (But, ~650): raises to 15
Vil3 (BB, ~650): calls

(2 players - 32 in pot)
Flop: Kc Tc 8x
Vil3: bets 30
Hero: calls

(2 players - 92 in pot)
Turn: Kc Tc 8x Ax
Vil3: bets pot
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard
Flop: Standard.
Turn: This is a weird spot. A call could also work given stack sizes What is Vil3 betting two streets? Set(s)? Big combo draw? Turned straight?
Hero decides to let villain take pot as hero may or may not have best equity on the turn.

-------------
Interesting hand:
Preflop:
Vil2 (LP, 75) - raises to 15
Vil5 (SB, ~400) - calls
Vil6 (BB, ~500) - reraises to 60
Vil2: calls
Vil5: calls

(3 players - 180 in pot)
Flop: Jh Qd 7h
Vil5: checks (?)
Vil6: bets 180
Vil2: calls for less
Vil5: folds

No hands are shown and it's only run once.

Analysis:
Preflop: These smallish reraises are usually strong A2 hands (A[K|Q]/2/L] that are trying to isolate short stack. It's less likely to be AA2/AA3 since many villains will raise larger with these specific hands to isolate (and turn their hand face up).

365 NLHE Turbo at Hard Rock Tulsa

10000 starting chips at 25/50 blinds and 20 min. levels.

First Table Reads (Table 49):

1 mid aged Asian, black diamond stud ring?
2 mid aged Asian
3 hero
4 mid aged female with tattoo
5 older balding guy with glasses
6 older guy with sunglasses
7 younger guy with glasses
8 younger African American
9 older, bald guy
10 older guy with long hair and glasses

---------------
Hero late registered during level 3.

---------------
Level 3 - Blinds: 75/150

Hero dealt in SB: Td 8d

Preflop:
Vil5 (UTG): calls
(folds to Vil2)
Vil2 (But): calls
Hero (SB): calls
Vil4 (BB): raises to 650
Vil5: calls
Vil2: folds
Hero: folds

(2 players - 1525 in pot)
Flop: 8h 4h 2h

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero has good price to complete in SB. Hero does not have great equity in raised pot. Hero did not really have reads to know if Vil4 (BB) will squeeze often enough to make a SB complete a bad call.

---------------
Level 4 - Blinds: 100/200

Read: Seat 2 had been fairly active.
Hero dealt in SB: Jx Jx (hand may be incorrect)

(9 handed, Seat 2 is empty.)
Preflop:
Vil2 (UTG): raises to ~500
(folds to Hero)
Hero: calls
(other players fold)

(2 players - 1300 in pot)
Flop: 3h Td 8c
Vil2: bets 875
Hero: calls

(2 players - 3050 in pot)
Turn: 3h Td 8c 3d
Vil2: checks
Hero: bets 1700
Vil2: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. There is some merit in forcing an isolation raise, but hero decides to play well post-flop.
Flop: Standard. The board is fairly dry, and hero can learn to peel entire range on flop.
Turn: Standard. Hero could simply float often and steal on turn too. Hero would likely bet/call turn and check/fold river. (A bet, check/raise flop/turn line is strong, but it still might be overplayed by a TPTK villain hand.)

---------------
Level 5 - Ante/Blinds: 25/100/200

Hero's image: tight/borderline nitty. Vil4 seemed tight too.
Hero dealt in SB: Th 2h

(7 handed, Seats 3 and 9 are empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (SB): raises to 550
Vil4 (BB): folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero believes Vil4 may be playing too tight preflop. Hero decides to take advantage and try to steal blinds.

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: Ax Kx (rainbow)

(9 handed, Seat 2 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Vil1)
Vil1 (HJ): raises to 600
(folds to Hero)
Hero (But): reraises to 2000
(folds to Vil5)
Vil5 (BB): calls
Vil1: calls

(3 players - 6325 in pot)
Flop: 5s 7d 8h
(all players check)

(3 players - 6325 in pot)
Turn: 5s 7d 8h 3s
Vil5: bets 4500
Vil1: folds
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard to isolate villain, but there is also value in flat-calling. Hero seems to be inconsistent, and perhaps should have reraised previous hand too.
Flop: It might have been better to c-bet even though the board does not hit hero's range all that well. Hero's range looks like many overpairs, so hero could theoretically bet/fold.
Turn: Hero's equity does not improve, so hero folds.

A little later, Vil5 mentions to the table that he was surprised that hero didn't cbet. It sounded like hero dodged a set.
Vil1 also asked hero if he had AK, and hero did not reply.

---------------
Hero's stack at Level 7 break (Ante/Blinds: 50/200/400): 8475

---------------
First Table Updated Reads (Table 49):

1 mid aged Asian, black diamond stud ring?
2 (level 7) - old guy with cap and glasses
3 (level 7) - old guy with red cap
4 (level 7) - old guy with cap | (level 8) - old guy (Ronald) who is friends with C. Conrad
5 older balding guy with glasses
6 older guy with sunglasses
7 younger guy with glasses
8 younger African American
9 older, bald guy
10 older guy with long hair and glasses

---------------
Level 7 - Ante/Blinds: 50/200/400

Hero dealt in UTG+3: Ah 9h

Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (UTG+3): raises to 900
Vil10 (BB): checks

(2 players - 2250 in pot)
Flop: Jc 7d 5h
Vil10: checks
Hero: bets 1300
Vil10: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Somewhat loose in EP using preflop hand charts.
Flop: Standard. This board does not likely hit villain (with a J and 2 non-broadway cards).

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: Ax Kx

Preflop:
Vil6 (UTG+1): calls
Vil7 (UTG+2): calls
(folds to Vil2)
Vil2 (But): raises to 2200
Hero: reraises all in for 10000
Vil6: folds
Vil7: folds
Vil2: calls

Vil6: shows Ax Kx (hero is unsure of either player's suits)

(2 players - ~21050 in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Qh 7s 8s Jc Ts
(neither player has flush)

Players split pot.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero believes there is fold equity from other players (and even possibly from button who might be trying to isolate).

---------------
Level 8 - Ante/Blinds: 75/250/500

Hero dealt in SB: 8x 8x

Preflop:
Vil10 (UTG): raises to 1300
(folds to Hero)
Hero (UTG+3): calls
(folds to Vil3)
Vil3 (BB): calls

(3 players - 5150 in pot)
Flop: Jx 6x 5x
Vil3: checks
Vil10: checks
Hero: bets 2400
Vil3: folds
Vil10: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero has an ok hand, but 3 betting an UTG raise is not really great.
Flop: Standard. Hero likely has best hand against likely villain ranges (which missed board), and can get value from overcards which look to peel. Hero's hand is vulnerable to turn/river cards, so hero tries to bet to take pot and forfeit other people's equity.

---------------
Level 9 - Ante/Blinds: 100/300/600

Hero dealt in SB: Qx Tx (offsuit)

(9 handed - Seat 4 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (CO): raises to 4025
(other players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Preflop raise size is too large, and it causes hero to be out of balance with late position raises. A raise to 1200-1300 would have been better.

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG+2: Ax Jx (AJo)

Preflop:
Vil1 (UTG, 6k): raises all in
(folds to Hero)
Hero: tanks, folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero's inexperience shows. Hero is unsure what to do against a probable UTG steal with short stack (10BBs, M = 4) stack that is likely shoving wide. Hero is also in EP, so does hero really jam all in and hope to avoid getting called by monster hand in later position? It's more likely to be a simple fold as played in this hand.

---------------
Level 9 - Ante/Blinds: 100/300/600
Hero's stack: ~12450

Hero's image: fairly tight.
Hero dealt in UTG: Kx Qx (KQo)

(8 handed, Seats 1 and 4 are empty.)
Preflop:
Hero (UTG): raises to 1400
(all players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: This is probably a loose open for a ring game, but hero only has 20 BB (M = 8). Hero's

---------------
Hero's stack: ~14350

---------------
Hero dealt in But: As 7s

Preflop:
Vil9 (UTG+2, seems tight): raises
(folds to Hero)
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard based on hero's read that Vil9 is tight.

---------------
Level 10 - Ante/Blinds: 100/400/800

Hero dealt in HJ: As 6s

Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (HJ): raises to 1900
(folds to Vil5)
Vil5 (SB): calls
Vil6 (BB): reraises all in (19000
Hero: folds
Vil5: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero was following other players' raise sizes, but hero would normally raise to 1800 preflop.

---------------
Level 11 - Ante/Blinds: 100/500/1000

Hero dealt in BB: Ah As
Read: Vil8 had been raise/folding preflop and bet/folding flops often.

(9 handed, Seat 2 is empty.)
Preflop:
Vil8 (CO): raises to 2400
Vil9 (But): folds
Vil1 (SB): calls
Hero (BB): calls

(3 players - 8100 in pot)
Flop: 4h 7h 9s Ac 2d
(all players check)

(3 players - 8100 in pot)
Flop: 4h 7h 9s
(all players check)

(3 players - 8100 in pot)
Turn: 4h 7h 9s Ac
(all players check)

(3 players - 8100 in pot)
River: 4h 7h 9s Ac 2d
Vil7: bets 3000
Hero: raises all in (7125 total)
Vil8: folds
Vil7: thinks for a bit, then folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard given all reads. It is bad that hero is playing against
Flop: Standard. Hero expects a continuation bet from player who seems to continuation bet often.
Turn: Same as flop. The board is not too wet given likely Vil8 raise range and Vil1's calling range (mid pairs, broadway cards).
River: Standard. Hero wishes that he had more chips. If hero had more chips rather than basically a slightly more than doubled raise, Vil1 might think that hero is bluffing and call. Given that hero is basically raising all in for a really good price, it's a very nut heavy range.

Vil1 is curious about hand. After Vil1 busts, hero talks about hand with other player. Hero talks about his read of Vil8, and knew that Vil8 would never call given hero's stack.

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG+2: As Js (AJs)

Read: Vil8 seemed to be tight.

(9 handed, Seat 2 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (UTG+2): raises to 2200
(folds to Vil10)
Vil9 (BB): reraises all in (30000)
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: This is probably a standard raise/fold. What is Vil9's reraise range? AK/AQ/AA-QQ? Vil9 did not seem to be playing like a maniac.

---------------
Level 12 - Ante/Blinds: 200/600/1200

Hero's stack: ~8700
Hero dealt in UTG+1: Ax Jx (AJo)

(9 handed, Seat 2 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (UTG+1): raises all in (8700)
(all players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero has M ~ 4 (7 BBs). Although hero did not check push/fold chart, this seemed fine.

---------------
Hero's stack at Level 13 break (Ante/Blinds: 200/800/1600): 12300

---------------
At one point, the table "appeared" to be 6 handed as 2 players (seats 1 and 8) were away from the table)

Table breaks shortly after dinner. Additionally, play is back down to 9 handed across the tournament.

---------------
Second Table Reads (Table 56):

1 old guy with glasses and green shirt
2 old guy with glasses and red shirt
3 mid aged guy with cap and beard
4 male with sunglasses and hoodie
5 older guy (Ronald) - C. Conrad friend
6 guy with long hair
7 mid aged Arab with headphones and Nike hoodie
8 hero
9 young/middle aged guy (possibly Arab)

---------------
As hero sits down, one guy was put on a one round penalty for exposing hand prematurely.
The TD was nice and eventually let person come back after half a round since it was a turbo tournament.

---------------
Level 13 - Ante/Blinds: 200/800/1600

Hero's stack: ~13k

Hero dealt in SB: 8x 8x

Preflop:
Vil7 (UTG+2): raises all in for 21k
Hero (UTG+3): thinks for a bit, then folds
(folds to Vil3)
Vil3 (SB): calls
Vil4 (BB): folds

Vil7: shows 33?
Vil3: shows 77

Analysis:
Preflop: This is likely a leak. Hero may have been a spot to call all in. Hero is not sure given that hero has little fold equity and is calling for tournament life.

---------------
Hero notes a pro poker player raised to 3800 at this level (200/800/1600)

---------------
Level 14 - Ante/Blinds: 300/1000/2000

Read: Vil2 had already limp/folded 2x preflop.
Hero dealt in But: 55? (It was likely a small pair.)

Preflop:
Vil2 (UTG): calls
(folds to Hero)
Hero: raises all in (17800)
(folds to Vil2)
Vil2: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. The read helped make this a relatively easy decision to jam with very high fold equity.

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG: AQo

Preflop:
Hero (UTG): raises all in (25k)
(other players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. With 12.5 BB (M = ~4), this is standard.

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: Ah 9s

(8 handed, Seat 5 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Vil2)
Vil2 (UTG+1): calls
(folds to Button)
Vil7 (But): calls
Hero (SB): calls
Vil9 (BB, likely chip leader): checks

(4 players - 10400 in pot)
Flop: 9s 5s 4x
Hero: bets 5500
Vil9: folds
Vil2: folds
Vil7: calls

(2 players - 22400 in pot)
Turn: 9s 5s 4x Qs
Hero: checks
Vil9: checks

(2 players - 22400 in pot)
River: 9s 5s 4x Qs As
Hero: checks
Vil9: checks

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard, but hero needs to be weary of chip leader's tendencies to squeeze/raise out of big blind.
Flop: Standard. Hero has likely best hand and get value from other players.
Turn: Standard. Hero has 2nd pair + flush draw.
River: Standard. Hero has bluff catcher at best.

Hero's stack: 41300

---------------
Hero dealt in SB: AQo

(8 handed, Seat 5 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Vil7)
Vil7 (UTG+2?, ~18k): raises all in (18k)
Hero (HJ?, 40k): calls
(other players fold)

Vil7: shows 66

(2 players - ~50k in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Xx Xx Xx Xx Xx (Hero does not remember board, but hero did not pair either card.)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero noticed that Vil7 was opening wider, so does that open up 55+/AJo to rejam?

---------------
Level 15 - Ante/Blinds: 400/1200/2400

Hero's stack: ~14k

Hero dealt in BB: AKo

(8 handed, Seat 5 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Vil5
Vil5 (CO): raises to 5500? (it may have been 5k)
(folds to Hero)
Hero (BB): reraises all in (~16k)
Vil5: calls

Vil5: shows AKs

(2 players - ~36k in pot, 1 player all in)
Flop: Xx Xx Xx Xx Xx (rainbow flop and turn)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard even with ~20BBs or larger

---------------
36 players left.

Hero dealt in HJ: JJ

(8 handed, Seat 5 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (HJ): raises all in (~17k)
(folds to Vil3)
Vil3 (BB): calls

Vil3: shows KTo

(2 players - ~38400 in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Xx Xx Xx Xx Xx (Hero does not remember board.)

Hero: wins pot

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.

---------------
Hero dealt in BB: JTo

(7 handed, Seats 4 and 5 are empty.)
Preflop:
Vil9 (UTG, ~70k): raises to 6500
(folds to Hero)
Hero (BB, ~27k): calls

(2 players - 17k in pot)
Flop: Js Td 7d
Hero: checks
Vil9: bets 20k
Hero: calls (all in)

Vil9: shows Xx Xx (may have been AK or low pocket pair)

(2 players - 57k in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Js Td 7d 3s 6s

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard. Hero might get a crying call as it appears to be a stop-and-go. Hero decides to slowplay and let villain apply pressure.

Hero's stack: ~60k)
.
---------------
Hero dealt in CO: ATo

(8 handed, Seat 4 is empty. Seat 5 is just filled.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (CO, ~63k): raises to 7000
(folds to Vil2)
Vil2 (BB, ~21k): calls

(2 players - 18400 in pot)
Flop: 6x 8c 9c
Vil2: bets all in (~14k)
Hero: calls

Vil2: shows 22

(2 players - ~46k in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: 6x 8c 9c Jx 3x

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard. Even if stop and go play, hero has enough equity to call.

Hero's stack: ~65.5k -> 51.5k

---------------
Seats are redrawn at 27 remaining players. (2 players busted before redraw, so 26 players remain.)
Hero's stack: ~46.5k

---------------
Third Table Reads (Table 47):

1 (seat 2 from second table) - old guy with glasses and red shirt
2 old guy with suit
3 old guy with glasses and cap
4 unknown (likely male)
5 hero
6 younger guy with glasses and goatee
7 guy with red hoodie and sunglasses (fully covered)
8 unknown (likely male) was moved quickly after sitting down
9 (seat 4 from second table) - mid aged Arab with headphones and Nike hoodie

---------------
Level 17 - Ante/Blinds: 500/2000/4000

Hero dealt in But: A2o

(8 handed, Seat 8 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero: raises all in
(other players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.

---------------
Hero dealt in CO?: AJo
Hero's stack: 41000 @ 500/2000/4000

(8 handed, Seat 8 is empty.)
Preflop:
Vil2 (UTG+2, ~70k): calls
(folds to Hero)
Hero (CO): thinks for a bit, then folds

Analysis:
Preflop: This may have been an incorrect fold. Is there fold equity? That was hero's thought (that there was not much).

---------------
If hero remembers correctly, there were 2-4 hands of hand-for-hand play once the field was down to 24 players. (23 paid.)
Ultimately, 2 players busted on the same hand.

Hero is ITM.

---------------
Hero dealt in HJ?: 66

(7 handed?, Seats 4 and 8 are empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (HJ?, 35.5k): raises to 8500
(folds to Vil1)
Vil1 (BB, 70k): reraises all in (~70k)
Hero: calls all in

Vil1: shows 33
(2 players - ~77000 in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Jd Th 9c 7h Ks

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard raise and call.

---------------
Seats are redrawn at 18 players remaining.

---------------
Fourth Table Reads (Table 47):

1 guy with bald hair
2 (seat 4 from second table/seat 9 from third table) - mid aged Arab with headphones and Nike hoodie
3 young guy with headphones
4 old guy with cap and glasses
5 old guy with ponytail
6 young guy with beard and under armour hoodie
7 middle aged guy with long beard
8 hero
9 mid aged guy with black sunglasses

---------------
Level 18 - Ante/Blinds: 500/2500/5000

Hero's stack: ~70k
Hero is likely the shortest stack at table.

Hero dealt in CO: A4s

(9 handed)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero: raises all in
(other players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.

---------------
Hero's stack at Level 19 break (Ante/Blinds: 1000/3000/6000): 85000

---------------
Level 19 - Ante/Blinds: 1000/3000/6000

Read: Vil6 was a friend of C. Conrad, so likely a smarter, thinking player. No reads on loose/tight play.
Hero dealt in SB: A3o (maybe A5o)

(8 handed, Seat 7 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Vil6)
Vil6 (But): raises to 16000
(folds to Hero)
Hero (SB): reraises all in (~72k)
(folds to Vil6)
Vil6: thinks for a while, then folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero suspects a very wide Vil6 opening range (22+/A2+/K2+/Broadway cards/suited connectors) and correctly jams with hand ahead of range.

After the hand, Vil9 asks hero, "Did you have it?"? Hero's response: "Hero is ahead of Vil5's range."

Hero's stack: 106k

---------------
Level 19 - Ante/Blinds: 1000/3000/6000

Hero dealt in But: QJo

(8 handed, Seat 8 is empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (But, ~106k): raises to 19000
(folds to Vil1)
Vil1 (BB, ~50k): calls

(2 players - ~49000 in pot)
Flop: Ax Kx 3x (rainbow)
Vil1 (BB): checks
Hero: bets 25000
Vil1 (BB): reraises all in
Hero: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: This may be a leak given hero's relatively short stack. This could be a good spot to check back, given dry board (no flush draw) and hero has backdoor equity. If Vil1 checks the turn too, Hero can bet some blank turns.

Hero's stack: ~43000

---------------
Hero dealt in UTG+2: 44

(7 handed, Seats 5? and 7 are empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (HJ, ~44k): raises all in
(other players fold)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard with 8 BB/M < 3.

Hero's stack: ~59k

---------------
Blinds pass hero. Hero's stack: ~44k
Hero dealt in HJ?: A7o

(7 handed, Seats 5? and 7 are empty.)
Preflop:
(folds to Hero)
Hero (HJ, 44k): raises all in
(folds to Vil1?)
Vil1 (BB, ~100k): calls

Vil1: shows JTs (Jc Tc)

(2 players - 98k in pot, 1 player all in)
Flop: 2c Jc 3x Qc 9c

Hero out in 13th.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero has 8 BB/M < 3.

---------------
Hero out in 13/216.

Hero had some leaks during the short stack play (call range/reshove range). There were not too many big flop/turn decisions, but hero did make some good plays based on paying attention to different players (example: not reraising player who had raise/folded preflop 2x.)

Hero felt there were some spots in the field, but the field was fairly reg invested.
Hero likes playing turbo NLHE tournaments periodically.

Level 4 - Blinds: 100/200

(1st hand at table)
Hero dealt in CO: Ad 9x 9x 3d

(8 handed, Seat 3 is empty.)
Preflop:
Vil5 (UTG): raises pot
(2 other players raise pot)

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard. Hero's hand has very little equity even against AAxx (likely range for reraises in deep stack live PLO MTTs)

Vil5: checks

(2 players - 4000 in pot)
River: 6x 6s 9s 8s 5c
Hero: bets 2400
Vil5: thinks for a bit, folds A6xx face up

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard. Hero could theoretically fold though, as villains are likely only raising A6xx. Hero's plan is to try to showdown, but also have some spots where hero may turn hand into bluff.
Turn: Vil5's check indicates some weakness. Hero's hand is not necessarily best though.
River: Hero turns hand into bluff. Hero's range does consist of 99xx, and lots of rundowns containing a 6 that likely filled up.
Without reads, it's a tough spot as hero has to make a judgment for whether Vil5 is competent or not. It was a limped pot, so Vil5 likely has A6xx more than other hands. If hero gets raised, it's an easy fold.
If Vil5 was a weaker player, this could be a spew as Vil5 might hero call with A6xx.

(8 players - 1600 in pot)
Flop: Ad Ax 8d
Vil9 (SB): checks

Analysis:

Flop: Standard. Hero may get value from worse Axxx, and hero wants to price out players who might spike their kicker.

---------------
Level 5 - Blinds: 150/300

(3 players - 1050 in pot)
Turn: 4s 8c Ts 7x
Hero: bets 700?
Vil5: folds
Vil7: folds

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: This was probably a better spot to consider getting. Hero has decent equity against 1 hand. However, there is some merit to checking because a call might mean hero is unsure of both villains' calling ranges (which are likely a bunch of draws, with some occassional made hands like top 2/set).
Turn: Standard. Hero likely has best hand and redraw outs. Hero hopes to get value from other players.

River: 6c Ah 8d 6c Ks
Hero: checks
Vil9: bets 1000
Hero: calls

Vil9: shows 9x 7x 5x 4x
Hero: wins pot

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard. With Vil8's bet, it could be a small steal on the button (instead of raising preflop). Hero decides to call.
Turn: Standard to check/decide, but somewhat close. Hero may consider check/call since hero has picked up flush draw against possible weak opponent button opening range. Hero would likely c/f non-flushing rivers (and possibly bet/fold flushing river cards).
If hero faced bet, it would be tough, but likely a check/call turn and fold river. It's a tough spot though, and reads can help.
River: Standard. Hero is picking off bluff since many draws missed on the river. Hero correctly assumes a weak button range with many bluffs.

Analysis:
Preflop: Unknown as hero did not write down hand.
Flop: Hero could have tried to steal pot. This may have been a leak.
Turn: Standard. Hero checks entire range in this spot.
River: As played, hero could try to steal pot with a small bluff (with QQxx/KKxx) and fold to raise. Hero may have been slowplaying the only Axxx combo, but hero did not try to steal pot in this spot.

(2 players – 11000 in pot)
Flop: Qc Jc 9x
Vil6: bets all in
Vil7: calls

Vil6: shows JJ88
Vil7: shows Ac Ax Xx Xx

Analysis:
Preflop: It's a tough spot. There is some merit in folding preflop. But if it limps around preflop, then there is a chance Hero may be able to steal pot on some turn/river cards since limped pots are generally less fought over. Hero thought that blinds would simply try to see flop instead of trying to jam chips in middle preflop. Hero's call/fold preflop is standard. Hero does not have great equity against likely AAxx/KKxx/broadway type hands.

Vil2: says 1 pair
Vil4: shows Ax Qx Xx Xx and wins pot.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: This might have been better to bet as a bluff. The board is polarized and static (monotone), so hero likely will be able to win pot often.
Turn: Standard. Given that hero checked flop, hero is likely check/calling to river.
River: Hero's plan is to check/call one player's bet (hopefully Vil4). But, this plan is foiled when Vil4 snap calls. Was Vil4 check/calling with weak flush? Hero had no other real info, so hero decides to fold.

---------------
Level 11 - Blinds: 800/1600

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard with most of range. Hero would likely consider barreling turn/river.
Turn: Hero is unsure why value betting didn't start until river.
River: Hero likely is betting as a bluff with most of range that has no showdown value (Jxxx, other bad 2 pairs, bad flushes, etc...)

---------------
Hero out in 37/188 entries. 21 places paid.
There were many PLO regulars, but there were a mix of players that were not PLO regulars.

There were some tricky spots and hero made 1-2 mistakes. Overall, hero played decently, but there are some areas to improve (via review) and gain more experience.

Analysis:
Preflop: A 3-bet preflop is definitely good as well in a blind battle. Hero regains initiative. A call allows for deeper stacks. In this spot, hero decides to call.
Flop: Hero decides to continue to bluff some outs (usually flush cards) with aggression, donk bet if straight comes, etc...
Turn: This is not a great card for hero. Hero may decide to bluff river depending on equity. Hero's mistake in hand was not thinking ahead about various scenarios on the turn.
River: Hero gets showdown value with made straight. Can hero value bet? It is possible, but would a naked Qxxx call? Hero decides there is not much value in betting, so hero decides to check/call and let villain bluff air and value bet stronger hands.

Turn: Standard. This is a decent spot to bluff and steal pot, but it is even better as a semi-bluff.

---------------
At this new table, there are many more players from Chicago land area. Hero also hears that a couple players are in a last longer bet.
It was a $1000 entry fee between 9 players. (This is about 2.75 buyins.)
Some players are trying to estimate prize pool to determine equity.
Once the prize pool is determined, hero discovers that the last longer winner gets greater than 3rd place money.
This likely contributes to the large number of entries and reentries.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard, although a limp can also work.
Flop: Standard. The board is locked down and dry. Hero likely will continue to have best hand.
Turn: Same as flop, but a bit uglier with more broadway cards on board. Hero could probably have bet turn for value.
River: It may have been better to let Vil5 accidentally bet a worse hand (like straight). This was not a great bet size either. Could hero realistically get Vil5 to call? There is value in trying to keep table from seeing hero's hand though, but most realize that hero is likely betting a boat on river.

(4 players - 3200 in pot)
River: Td 8c 7c 2h 2s
(all players check)

Hero: likely won pot, but a villain may have won with an overpair.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Standard. Hero has a decent strength hand, but equity is not great against straights + large amounts of draws, etc....
Turn: Hero could actually bet this blank turn. It would be for value against flush/straight draws while hero is in position. The other players' hands are weak.
River: Standard. Overpairs are better hands that may call hero's bet.

---------------
Level 9 - Blinds: 500/1000

Hero dealt in SB: Ax Qh Jh Tx

(8 handed: Seat 3 is empty.)
Preflop:
Vil6 (~70k): calls
Vil7 (~6k): calls

Vil2 (But, 13k): raises to 5500

(other players fold to Vil6)
Vil6: calls
Vil7: reraises all in (5900)
Vil2: calls all in
Vil6: calls

Analysis:
Preflop: Tough decision. Hero has 4 broadway cards (which is good). But, there are many players left to act. Hero's A in hand helps as a blocker, but it also makes hero's equity severely decrease. There are also 4 players in the pot, which makes the likelihood of winning hand less (although pay off is much higher). Hero decides to take the less variance route and fold.

Vil7: shows Qx Jx Jx 8x

(2 players - in pot, 1 player all in)
Board: Jh 9s 7h Ac 3d

Hero eliminated.

Analysis:
Preflop: Standard.
Flop: Hero actually thought a lot about checking this flop too. Hero's equity is ok against made straight. Hero is a huge equity favorite, so hero might have better chance of "trying to get last raise in" to maximize fold equity. Regardless, hero is likely going to go with hand.

---------------
Hero out ~43/227. (Hero believes there were 8 tables remaining.) The tournament finished around level 24 (8:00PMish local time) on Day 2.

Overall Thoughts:
Hero finds out that there were many entries likely due to the 2.75x buyin last longer. The winner of the last longer (between 9 Chicago area regulars) wins greater than 3rd place money!
There were 227 total entries. Hero (and others) suspect there were maybe ~110-120 unique entries. Many fired 2 barrels, while 1 likely fired 12 barrels.
They were also (optionally) giving away $10 slot vouchers for each entry. Hero has 2 * $10 slot vouchers which are souvenirs that hero did not use.

The field seemed a bit tough in spots as there were not as many random bad players in the field. This was likely due to Chicago being close to the area (60 minutes south).

Hero's play was not really that great in spots. There were some bright moments, but there are also improvement areas where river bluff sizing may not have been ideal.

4th Street: This was probably a missed bet by hero. Hero can get value from the high hand (Vil3) or eliminate Vil3 to get more value.
5th Street: This was a spew. Hero should continue since hero underrepresented hand. However, the pot is really small, so hero decides to fold.

Board: Kx Kx Lx Lx Bx
Hero does not remember result, but hero likely scoops both opponents.

Analysis:
Preflop: Hero is at an ugly spot. Two questions came to mind:
With 7 big bets, is hero "playing for the win" or trying to get ITM? If hero loses hand, hero has ~22k (2.75 big bets).
It was tough, because hero has an Ace blocker, which means neither of the opponents likely has AAxx.
Will either opponent fold (specifically UTG)?
Using logic (and not results oriented thinking), the right play was to likely jam the pot. Not necessarily because of goal (getting ITM), but because of hero's blocker value to meaning hero is likely in a great spot to bust an opponent.
Hero decides to "sneak into the money" rather than risk tournament life in this spot.

---------------
Hero out in 9/75.

$125 -> $169

Overall Thoughts:
The field seemed very soft, with many new players. There were some competent mixed game players in the field.
This was the smallest buyin that Hero played, and it showed.
Hero was also rusty in LO8 and Stud8, but luckily it was not too horrible to overcome the rust.

Hero is unhappy with the AKK5 hand near the bubble with hero's middling stack. If hero did not have an A, it is much closer. But, retrospective out of the situation should mean that hero should have jammed the pot and lived with bubbling.

---------------
This tournament was part of the Run It Up (RIU) festival with other events (both poker and non-poker) to keep people interested. There was a game night with board games and card games (like Magic). Many players were wearing RIU gear. The last player in each side event wearing RIU gear won a free main event seat ($600 value).
There were also seminars led by Jason Somerville which were very informative (there was a pause during level 6 for about an hour to have a Q&A to talk about hand histories (especially mixed game HHs). It was very informative, and Jason was also very welcoming to hero and other players.

Hero still somewhat regrets not at least firing a bullet in the 8 game mix.
